California Dreamin’ Part 1

Ok, we’re not talking about California, but in this episode we are discussing dreams!  This is a topic we’ve become passionate about over the last few months and we were so excited to talk about it, we decided we needed a two part episode.

In Part 1, we talk about how dreaming is necessary to keep hoping, some obstacles that keep us from dreaming, and how God places dreams on our heart as our own unique way to bear fruit.

Resources we mention:

Your Blue Flame by Jennifer Fulwiler

The Dream Manager by Matthew Kelly

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

– Marianne Williamson

Scriptures we mention:

“Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God; let it be deep as Sheol, or high as the sky! But Ahaz answered, “I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!” Then he said: Listen, house of David! Is it not enough that you weary human beings? Must you also weary my God?  Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign; the young woman, pregnant and about to bear a son, shall name him Emmanuel.”

– Isaiah 7:11-14
